NVER is the Netherlands Association for European Law. It brings together lawyers, judges, academics, government officials, and other professionals from across the Netherlands with an interest in European Union law.
The association regularly organises conferences and other events. NVER organises an annual EU law moot court competition for students. It also awards a prize each year for the best master’s thesis in the area of EU law.
As one of the founding members of FIDE, NVER is part of an international network of European law associations. from May 2018 until May 2020 NVER is the president of FIDE and it that capacity will host the FIDE 2020 congress in The Hague.
NVER has more than 400 members. It was founded on 24 September 1960 in The Hague.
Its board members are Corinna Wissels, Hélène Stergiou, Herman van Harten, Felix Ronkes Agerbeek, Herman Speyart, Claartje van Dam, Pauline Huurnink, Armin Cuyvers, Ronald van Ooik, Sybe de Vries, Charlotte Schillemans, Sylvia Evers, Guus de Bruijn and Clio Zois.
